Hi Carlos and others,
Wed works well for us. I’ll keep my eye out for parts delivery. Have you ruled out the x-ray generator as a possible source of problems?
I appreciate your efforts to get the scanner running.

Dear Stuart,

We have been working in an action plan to fix the CT issue you currently have in the Albira. It has taken a bit of time as we were checking availability of materials, I apologize for not getting back to you before.

As you know, during the previous visit we checked all the hardware components of the CT system. Everything was replaced except the power supplies.
Rex Hurley can be on site on Wednesday next week to analyze the failure and check these components.

He will install an external power supply (currently on delivery) to allow you to use the system and also to isolate the CT system from the general Albira circuit to evaluate if there is any interference between the electrical systems.
Depending on the outcome we might be changing the internal power supplies (that we will  deliver in a few days as soon as possible).  In any case will to make an extensive check on the system to ensure that the electrical system works properly.

If possible we would like to confirm this date for the visit.

All the team from Valencia and Germany will be supporting this visit. We really apologize for the situation and we are going to do our best to leave the system up and running as soon as possible.

We will keep you informed as soon as we have more information.

Best regards

Carlos

Hello Prof. Berr,
Good morning.
I reply about your question:
1º In this moment the motors are disabled, but we may enable when you decide to use.
2º We have an action plan to offer you, as soon as we define all the points we will share with you.

Excuse me but I will be not possible have the CT ready for tomorrow. We prepare new components to repair the problem and we are in the logistics of the shipment.
Again excuse me the inconveniences.
Emilio.

Emilio,
1)      Are the SPECT and CT still disabled?
2)      What are plans to fix the CT?
Bijoy is going to acquire PET images tomorrow. It would be good to have the CT scanner running if possible.
Thanks.
    Stuart

Hello Stuart,
Good morning.
First point, I checked with Mahendra this morning that the motor issue of Yesterday(SPECT), it was in relation that the lateral doors were not completely locked.
Second Point, about the CT we(all the Group of NMI) have a meeting today to prepare an action asap. In this case, probably Michael/Brian/Carlos will report you as soon as we have the plan ready.
The actual status of the Albira is:
·         PET enable and ready to work.
·         SPECT and CT motors disabled
o   SPECT is ready to use.
o   CT, the continue having problems with the detector.
I left this configuration because I do not want to interfere in the PET study that the guys are going to do today and the rest of the week. In any case, the SPECT modality can be used when you decide. We just need able the motor.

Emilio,
When you get a chance, please let me know what the plan is for getting these working. Is there a chance we could get a replacement scanner? This one is chronically breaking.

Yes, in this moment the hardware of SPECT and CT are disabled.
Bijoy had to take a PET acquisition and it was our priority.

Hello Stuart,
I was connected till just 30 min ago.
In a brief  summary:
  • I was connected this morning to check the CT with Mahendra a Bijoy.
  • During your morning we checked the flat panel connection, and it did not work again. I have explanation about that.
  • After this, before the guys start with the acquisition we talked about do the final revision of some connections. But the guys decided that better do the PET acquisitions.
  • Then, Mahendra commented me that they decided re-start the Computer 1 because the scanner did not do the system on.
  • And it started the communication problem between the Computer 1 and the Albira computer. The computer 2 had a good connection with the Albira computer.
  • We solved the communication problem enable/disable ethernet port of the Computer 1 and reconnecting the cables how I think that you have seen.
  • The next problem has been carry on the system on, the Motor of the FOV did not work. And I had to disable the motors of Ring and FOV(CT and SPECT motors), once I did this action. The scanner started to do the system on and it worked.
  • Before I leave the connection I did a PET scanner and its reconstruction. Both operations worked correctly.

That is all, excuse me but I am completely surprise about the behavior of the scanner. And of course I want to send you my apologizes about this situation.
In this moment I am trying to obtain all the information and I have  to share with all my colleagues of software and hardware, to prepare our respond asap. I want to comment too that UVA is our priority and I hope that we may solve this situation as soon as possible,

Best regards,
